The Zen Nixie Clock is our inaugural creation using R|Z568M nixie tubes that we have designed and produced. This clock boasts a sleek and minimalist design, featuring a simple aluminum stand and glass cover reminiscent of a museum vitrine. Its clean lines make it a suitable addition to any interior space, particularly offices and living rooms.
Zen Nixie Clock features
- Internet connectivity - Equipped with a wifi module, this clock is designed to operate online. It automatically synchronizes the time from the network, eliminating the need for manual adjustments or additional devices such as GPS modules or radio connections. In the event of a power outage, the clock retains all settings and will automatically synchronize itself with the internet.
- Convenient online settings - All settings for the Zen Nixie Clock can be easily controlled through your user account on our website. You won't need to search for the user guide every time you want to make changes to its settings.
- Silent circuitry - This clock operates completely silently, with no audible noise produced by its electronic components.
- Direct driven design - The nixie tubes in this clock are driven directly, which extends their lifespan. While the common practice is to use multiplexed driving circuits (which are easier and cheaper to manufacture), they tend to shorten the lifespan of nixie tubes.
- Cathode poisoning prevention - The clock can run periodic routines that prevent cathode poisoning, ensuring that all digits of all tubes remain in excellent condition.
- Rotary knob - For offline users, there is a rotary knob on the back of the board that allows you to access the settings menu and make adjustments manually. Please note that this feature is currently in development.
- Online firmware update - The clock's integrated wifi module enables remote firmware updates. You can easily update your clock whenever new firmware becomes available, with new features and bug fixes.
- No blue spots - Unlike certain other clocks (especially those built with IN-18 nixie tubes), the Zen Nixie Clock doesn't exhibit any blue spots in the tubes.
- Colon tubes - This clock supports our colon tubes, which are currently under development. These tubes will perfectly complement the design of the nixie tubes in terms of their base and internal structure.
- RGB underlight - At the bottom of the board, there are 8 RGB LEDs (WS2812B - also known as "neopixels") that open up exciting possibilities for creating cool lighting effects. For purists who prefer only the warm glow of the nixie tubes, it is possible to turn off the underlight. Please note that this feature is currently in development!
